EU Youth Feel Marginalized

10,294 Europeans from all EU Member States, aged 16 to 30 years, participated in a Eurobarometer survey on youth, that took place between 9 and 25 April.

The absolute majority of respondents feel excluded – not surprisingly, the proportion of young people who feel marginalized, is the highest in the countries that the economic crisis has hit hardest. However, only a small percentage of young people in the EU as a whole (15 percent) feel forced to leave their countries; in Slovenia 26 percent.
